Q-Park are delighted to announce the opening of the new Capital Square car park in Edinburgh City Centre. The 110 space car park is the third facility in their Edinburgh portfolio.
Q-Park have been an ever-growing presence in Scotland’s Capital City. In 2013 they took over the car park underneath the popular OMNI Leisure Destination and began the process of modernising and improving the well-established parking facility. Then in 2015 Q-Park acquired the Quartermile car park on the south side of the City Centre and provided parking for the local offices, residents and visitors to the Royal Mile. Q-Park have built a reputation in Edinburgh for providing an excellent parking experience for both regular and first-time visitors to the city.
The Capital Square car park allows Q-Park to expand their reach into the vibrant west side of Edinburgh. For businesses the Exchange District is considered one of the most desirable addresses to have, due to this there are many large multinational corporations based in this area. The Capital Square development itself is one of Edinburgh’s newest commercial developments. The project which completed in May 2021 comprises 122,700 sq ft of Grade A office space and is now home to many blue-chip tenants already in place including Brodies LLP, Pinsent Mason LLP, Stantec, Mazars and Anderson Strathern LLP. Whilst the area is considered as a business hub, some of Edinburgh’s main attractions such as Edinburgh Castle, the National Museum of Scotland and Grassmarket are a short walk away. The facility is also easily accessible for those coming into the city from the South West.
Q-Park plan to provide their whole suite of services into this parking facility both as the car park opens and the preceding few months after that. This will include secure vehicle and pedestrian entrances to reduce the risk of unwanted visitors entering the car park. There will also be the futuristic PaSS Automatic Number Plate Recognition system installed to provide seamless access for both long term and short term parkers. Q-Park are well-known for providing convenient services in their parking facilities for customers to avail of. In this case the car park will soon have a complimentary shoe shine machine, free umbrella hire, jump leads and an AED. Q-Park also have plans to introduce Electric Vehicle Charging Points as soon as possible so customers can plug in whilst visiting the city.
Adam Bidder, Managing Director of Q-Park UK & Ireland commented ‘We are delighted to be able to grow our portfolio in Edinburgh and look forward to welcoming new customers to the Capital Square car park. It is testament to the commercial solidity of our business that despite the economic turbulence, we can continue to grow our business whilst still providing a quality service. We would welcome the opportunity to speak to any property owner regarding their asset and what we can do to add value to it’.
