Q-Park are delighted to announce that they have been nominated for four British Parking Awards. The winners are due to be announced on the 16th of September in a ceremony hosted by comedian Kerry Godliman.
The British Parking Awards were launched by Parking Review magazine in 2002 and were immediately recognised as the ultimate recognition of excellence and achievement in parking management, design and innovation. Q-Park have a decorated history at these awards, scooping prizes on multiple occasions as well as many other nominations. The four awards Q-Park have been nominated for are ‘Parking Operator of the Year’, ‘Best New Car Park’, ‘Parking Technology Award’ and ‘Parking Partnerships Award’ which demonstrates the versatility of Q-Park has a business that it can offer quality in all areas of the industry.
The ‘Parking Operator of the Year’ category covers parking providers who are creating a positive experience for motorists. The prize recognises work done to create easy-to-understand, non-confrontational and person-centric services. Q-Park believe that their experience and their continuing commitment to Quality, Innovation and Positive Change that make them a strong contender for this award. A win this year would be the 2nd time that Q-Park have won this award and further cement their reputation for being the best of the best in the parking industry.
The ‘Best New Car Park Award’ is a site-specific award that recognises outstanding design and construction techniques that turn car parks into landmark structures. It is open to local authority and private car park operators, owners, architects, developers and construction companies. Q-Park have been nominated for this award for their City Hospital car park in Birmingham which opened in April this year. The new state-of-the-art parking facility serves the adjacent hospital which is part of the Sandwell & West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust. It has helped improve mobility across the Estate and has significantly reduced parking pressure for patients and staff as well as introducing a positive parking experience at what can be a stressful time.
The ‘Parking Partnerships Award’ recognises the importance of partnership working in the parking sector. The partnership may involve pairings or groups of local authorities, companies, professional bodies, campaign groups and other stakeholders. Q-Park have been nominated for this award alongside popular parking app, RingGo for their AutoPay solution. This unique agreement combines Q-Park’s innovative new PaSS system and the AutoPay feature of the RingGo platform to provide safe and secure parking to RingGo’s 18 million users in the UK. All RingGo users who have registered their number plates in the app are able to use Q-Park facilities ticket-less and touch-free.
The AutoPay feature of the partnership with RingGo was also nominated for the ‘Parking Technology Award’. This category recognises advances in the systems used to manage parking. The innovation will be a piece of parking hardware, a device or a wider system that makes the management of parking more efficient and/or customer-friendly which in this case this does for RingGo’s extensive customer base who were normally used to parking in on-street and pay and display car parks.
Q-Park also entered their Mobility Hub scheme for the ‘Parking Futures’ Rosette Award. The award is presented to a person, organisation or project in the UK or internationally that is fundamentally rethinking and reinventing the way in which parking is planned, designed, provided, experienced and marketed. Q-Park have been at the forefront of the European Parking industry in the creation of Sustainable Mobility Hubs. The aim is to develop parking facilities into vital instruments to help realise urban accessibility, sustainability and liveability. In addition to car parking, Q-Park are also aiming to provide access for shared mobility schemes, rapid electric vehicle charging, last mile delivery and retail space all within their safe and secure parking facilities.
