Q-Park introduces EV Charging to Aberdeen

Q-Park are delighted to announce the introduction of 8 EV Charging Points into their Q-Park Trinity Centre parking facility in Aberdeen City Centre.

Q-Park are delighted to announce the introduction of 8 EV Charging Points into their Q-Park Trinity Centre parking facility in Aberdeen City Centre.

Q-Park took over the Trinity Centre car park in 2010 and very quickly introduced their high standard of service to visitors to both the shopping centre and Aberdeen itself. Improvements made included lighting, signage, Automatic Number Plate Recognition and customer service excellence from the onsite parking hosts.

Q-Park are currently investing over £3m in the UK and Ireland on the rollout of initially over 600 electric vehicle charging points across their portfolio of parking facilities. Installations commenced last year and included the modernisation of the existing charging infrastructure with the latest state-of-the-art hardware. On completion of this significant deployment programme, discussions will start on future phases with Q-Park eager to remain at the forefront of electric charging in the parking market. The industry leading results of this project have been shown with Q-Park recently winning the ‘Best EV Chargepoint Provider Award’ at the EVolution Awards 2023.

Now that the works in Aberdeen have been completed, there are now eight 7kW EV Charging Points operated by Blink Charging and are available on a pay as you go basis, they are on Level 3 of the car park. Users wanting to use these EV Charging Points simply need to plug their vehicle in and then tap their contactless bank card on the payment terminal next to it.

John Denton, Head of Commercial at Q-Park UK and IE commented ‘We are delighted to introduce our state-of-the-art EV Charging infrastructure to Aberdeen City Centre. Liveability in all urban areas is vitally important, and we are delighted to help support more emission free miles being driven with good quality EV Charging Points. Our comprehensive EV Charging Point roll-out is award winning and progressing apace throughout the country.’
