One of the Norwich’s most famous landmarks, Norwich Castle was built by the Normans over 900 years ago. The medieval keep is currently closed for a major redevelopment that will transform it to its former glory as a Royal Palace. Phase one opened in July 2024, with the final phase due to reopen in late 2024.
The museum and art gallery remain open, showcasing outstanding collections of fine art, archaeology and natural history to inspire and intrigue visitors of all ages. The galleries also host an exciting temporary exhibition programme.
